Why Didn’t You Help?

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

One of the more awkward situations when it comes to friendships is when you become unsure of the level of friendship you have with someone. This can occur when a friend is caught in the middle of a situation.

To take an example you might have a friend that knows someone that has job that you want. You might ask them to put in a good word for you. You could find that they put in a good word for another of their friends instead and they get the job.

This kind of situation is awkward not because they can’t have other friends but because it becomes obvious that either they value the other one more or think they’re a better employee. Either way it’s not the nicest pill to swallow and is one of the situations rarely discussed in songs about friends but it does occur occasionally.

Realize that your friend is in an awkward situation and discuss with them why they tried to help the other friend more. Determine whether it’s for professional reasons (for instance their other friend was more suited to this job) or because they’re not as close a friend as you thought.

Korg SP-250′s Action Keyboard

Friday, September 16th, 2011

A lot of people tend to praise the Korg SP-250′s action keyboard. Many believe that it has the best that you can at its price. After all, it does use the RH3 graded hammer action, which is Korg’s best. Nevertheless, I have to disagree. In fact, I would rather use Yamaha’s lighter Graded Hammer Standard keys, which are much lighter.

I will admit that the Korg SP-250′s keys have a very “real” and thick feel to them. They feel better than most digital pianos and even better than some acoustic pianos! The keys are also spaced out relatively evenly and are made of great quality.

However, these keys are loud. I don’t mean that slight noise you might hear when playing softly. I mean, these keys are loud. Maybe other people don’t mind this. I do though. To me, loud keys are disturbing, and I’d rather play the Yamaha P95 even though the keys are much lighter. I just don’t like having the sound of the keys nagging at me while I’m trying to concentrate on my music.

Overall, the Korg SP-250 do have nice keys, but they are loud. It goes unmentioned in most reviews.

Learning the Practice with an Ableton Tutorial

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

In case you have not already heard, Ableton is a top-of-the-line product that focuses on creating custom music for compositions, songs, poetry, recording and just about any other reason you could imagine. The only problem people have with products like Ableton is that they encompass so much power that they are often either hard to learn or the user doesn’t actually take full power of the products potential. Luckily, I was able to find an Ableton tutorial online that guided me through the process step by step. I was completely new to their services, but by the end of the day I had a fully functional composition that was ready to be used. Everyone has this potential to learn and master their software, but it requires patience on your part. It is a complicated program and requires a little bit of time to get the hang of, but once you do it is all smooth sailing.

If they make suggestion, always make it a point to consider it. After all, it is really all about making profit and increasing sales which will only happen through the help of your loyal customers. Useful Tips for Buying Your Piano

Friday, August 5th, 2011

The piano is among the most widely used, enjoyable and adaptable musical instruments in the field of music. Its the perfect solo musical instrument, yet its sound can be mixed with other instruments with ease. And it is ideal for accompanying a singer or a solo instrumentalist, such as a violinist or cellist. The pianos you find on the market today offer a wide array of features – and also come in a wide range of prices. If you’re looking to buy a piano you should think about the following criteria first.

Pianos are built in a number of sizes and styles. Smaller and more compact pianos are usually much less expensive. However the style of the cabinet, the type of legs and music rack, the wood used in its construction, and the impression and general appearance of the piano also play a part. A lot of people like to purchase a piano to match the furniture in their house.

Think about the piano size. First look at how much free space you have available for the piano. If you have plenty of space, you may want to buy a petite or medium piano because they will have richer and brighter tones than other pianos. Of course they are also very expensive. Their size can be from 5 to 9 feet, with 9 feet for the huge concert grand piano. A vertical piano is also an option; its height varies from 36 to 51 inches. If you are short on floor space then maybe the small sized spinet piano is right for you.

Popular Icons As Models – Music Branding

Saturday, July 16th, 2011

What’s in a name? It’s certainly a well-known catchphrase and can be used to describe a particular reputation a name or brand has with its clientele or the general public. A good name can also be worth a lot as evidenced by some of the world’s most popular and well-known brands in various industries. But one thing they had in common was that they all spent time building their brands and creating a name for themselves. Music branding is but one facet of the way where an organization can instill greater familiarity to customers of what they are and what they do. When used in conjunction with other forms of media such as video, printed promotional materials and the like, it can create a powerful impact on people thereby creating a healthy awareness among consumers. It’s just like how musical artists are able to shoot to stardom because of the way they packaged themselves through their music. Firms may do well to take a cue from it as well.

Even Tango in Atlanta Takes a Break

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

When you hear this combination of a dance and location: Tango Atlanta, you’d think that it is always hot, always moving. However, in January 2011 even Argentine Tango in Atlanta, GA took a week-long break. Since it sure takes a lot for Tango dancers to stop dancing, stop coming to lessons and milongas, what do you think might have caused them to put their dance shoes away and stay idle for the whole week (which, it Tango terms is almost an eternity)?

The answer is highly unusual for the Southeast of the United States, yet surprisingly simple: it is the weather! While some areas in the south do get snow in winter every now and then, and Atlanta is one of them, it is almost unheard of to be covered in snow and ice for the duration of the whole week. Unfortunately, “cabin fever” and break from Tango in Atlanta is the least of concerns – large number of accidents on icy roads is. Let’s hope this weather phenomenon will not become a common one for those who live down South.

How to Make Beats

Friday, December 17th, 2010

A DJ Software library should be easy to navigate. When you need a particular track, you need it fast. When a DJ can’t find a song quickly, it’s almost unforgivable in this day and age. Finding tracks fast means you will have more time to watch the action on the dance floor to select the following tracks. Three features that you need are BPM detection, loop control, and beat matching. When you deejay at a 50th birthday, it’s totally different to a 21st birthday party. If your system has these features, mixing is simple. This will enable you to play appropriate tracks at any occasion. A dj software must give you the freedom to fulfill your client’s main wish, which is to keep the dance floor full. You should also have time to interact with the crowds and not have your head immersed in the mixer all evening. A good DJ always has things under control and never looks as if he or she is planning and thinking ahead. With an outgoing personality, a simple system, and easy-to-use software, you can accomplish this.

I Might Be Able to Squeeze in One DVD Guitar Lesson

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

Being a stay at home dad has a stigma of being emasculating for some reason. I am not sure why because I am a stay at home dad and I work hard! I get the kids up, fed, dressed and to school. While they are at school I do the shopping, laundry and get dinner ready. I might be able to squeeze in one DVD Guitar Lesson; but certainly never 2 of them. I do not feel any less masculine and my wife knows I work hard to so she does not look down at me either. When we got married and she got pregnant; our lives changed when it was triplets! It was just more economical for her to work and I stay with the kids because frankly she made more than I did and has an opportunity to move up, I didn’t. We save money on child care and extra expenses there as well. So, drop the stigma all stay home parents; men or women ; work hard.

Who’s Going To The Sziget Festival Budapest Hungary?

Monday, July 19th, 2010

We’re all convening at the sziget festival Budapest Hungary later this year. It’s going to be great. It’ll be a nice reliever from the stresses of the earlier part of this year, and I’m really saving up cash and emotion to just sort of throw it all to the wind, during that trip. I’m going to just live in the moment, and love the music, love the festival, the people, and hopefully get lucky with a few connections with good looking strangers. Man I need it. After a year like this, I need it. I need to reset. I need to come back from this thing feeling recharged and refreshed, so that I can get back to work, and just hit it all; stare at the wall, and get her done. I’m just really sort of holding my breath until this festival. Until then, I’ll be pretty wound up and finicky, until then.
