How to Enjoy Havana City, Cuba Holidays Tips and Advice

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

For many years I wanted to comeback. I took a trip to Cuba in early 80′s and I had a great time. For years I waited for the right time to take a trip back to the island. Finally just weeks ago I went, booked a hotel in Havana and packed my bags. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I just went on my second Cuba holidays after 21 years. I really thought I was in a different island; however I was indeed right in the centre of the oldest part of the beautiful city of Havana.

Old Havana Cuba

The amount of new hotels, the well preservation of those buildings near the “Plaza de Armas” square and the vivid enthusiasm of the locals regardless their many daily needs and shortages, really made me dry my tears a few times. I am almost 70 years now and I still remember my first walk all along “Obispo Street”, my mojito at “Bodeguita del Medio” and my lunch at Floridita. I am a big Hemingway fan so when in Cuba I always tried to follow his steps. These places still look like those days though I would say, they look even better. There are lots of new restaurants, not only in that road, but almost everywhere in that area of the city. I also had the chance to visit one of those “paladares” as Cubans call them (private small restaurants in their houses), I went to the obscure camera of Old Havana, and I even joined a concert at “San Fransisco de Asis” church (just fantastic, great acoustic), did a tour on a classic convertible Oldsmobile car (1942 model), went to the Museum of Havana Club Rum (too much for me, ha-ha).

I stayed at Inglaterra hotel, walking distance of the main attractions of Old Havana; this is the same hotel where I stayed in my first holiday to Cuba. It has been renovated and looks better, but its main feature continue being its perfect location to explore Havana and its elegance and classic architecture. I utterly enjoyed my time in Havana and will like to comeback yet again.

Taking Note of Beauty

Thursday, January 12th, 2012

The norfolk island accommodation was superb. Even just sitting on the balcony with a glass of iced tea and a bag of cookies was enjoyable. The location of the hotel was peaceful. The landscape outside was beautiful. Just a few meters away was the shopping and food district. There were so many gardens and national parks that was home to exotic plants and animals.

I had a lot of subjects for my paintings. The subtropical air gave me a great push to paint more. I filled numerous canvases with sunsets, flowers, species of birds, towering trees, infinite skies, and clear blue waters. Norfolk Island was like wonderland – a place filled with so much beauty and exoticness that I just had to record it in my art.

I know that this won’t be the last time I go here. In a few years I will come back and see what changed. I hope it stays the same because it’s perfect the way it is.

D’enfants Gites for Children

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

Gites in France can often be referred to as d’enfants gites if they are in a small community with a kids club or youth group in the centre of them. These layouts are becoming increasingly common around france as more and more people decide to come to france on holiday with their young children. Having a community of small gites makes the surrounding area much more approachable for the children, and it provides a safe environment for all of the families that are staying there. It is often the case that these areas of gites are fairly sort after and often can have long waiting lists for people to rent out from. These sorts of gites are advertised a lot on the internet and often they are advertised on television as well. They are quite expensive and can vary in price from very cheap and small gites to very expensive and spacious gites with all of the modern amenities that we have come to expect from living in houses.

Whilst there is not a huge demand for Christmas Ornament Factory tours near Prague, the Czech republic is one of the places where you can find some of the best Christmas decorations around and you will sometimes be able to arrange a tour of one of the factories as an unusual Christmas attraction.

One of the exports of the Czech republic is exceptionally designed crystal ware. Of course, there are many crystal Christmas decorations that are created and sold in the area each year. If you are interested in how these beautiful pieces of art are created, then you should book one of the local glass factory tours. In the months before Christmas, you will be able to see the factory workers creating the masterpieces that can be purchased all over the world and maybe even purchase a souvenir to take home with you. If you have heard of bohemian crystal Christmas decorations, then it is likely that they have come from this part of the world. If you live in apartments in Prague, then a great advantage is that there is actually a glass ornament factory close to you, just on the way to Karlovy Vary called Moser. The tour company can pick you up from Prague and take you to the factory directly. This will take less than an hour and on the way, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside too.

The tours of the Christmas ornament factories usually consist of firstly watching how the workmen put their skills into action. You will see them blowing the glass into shape and then carefully and skillfully cutting the glass. Depending on the tour that you are taking, you can sometimes have a go at creating a piece of glassware for yourself.

As you walk around the ornament factory, you will have a guide who will tell you all about the history of the Czech glass making businesses and how the skills have evolved and been passed down throughout the generations.

The factory has a souvenir shop, where you can choose gifts to take home with you. If you visit at Christmas time, then there will be a range of Christmas ornaments to purchase. The tours often even give their customers a free glass ornament as a gift for taking the tour. All the glassware in the shop is of course make in the factory itself.

My Experiences with Safari Holidays

Friday, November 18th, 2011

I went on some Safari Holidays when I was a kid and had a wonderful experience every time we went. My dad was a biology professor at USC and mom never worked so we were always traveling and doing fun stuff like that. The first few times we went I was pretty scared. The first time you see a lion or elephant up close you realize just how big and powerful these animals really are. We had some amazing guides on our safaris which really helped make the experiences that much more special. There were definitely a few times when I wanted to leave and go home, but the guides would keep reminding us that sleeping in tents and living off the land was all part of the experience. I would go back in a heartbeat if I got the chance. I would recommend it to anyone; it was the experience of a lifetime!

Package Deals of Thailand Hotels

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

In order to spend less while on a trip to Thailand, it is advisable to pay for a comprehensive package, rather than booking paying for items separately. The packages include items such as return airfare, sightseeing, hotel accommodation, and meals in Thailand hotels. This will also help you to save time while on the trip. The only issue with this is that, you should follow the itinerary as set out in your package. Moreover, you should be careful scrutinize the package deal before you buy, since some package deals will only include hotel accommodation and meals. During your visit to Thailand, if you choose to stay Bangkok or Pattaya, you may receive great discounts on the hotel packages. In other cases, customers who book the hotels of the same class but at different locations may end up getting good discounts. For this reason, it is important to consider the deals that you will get from a certain hotel before you book.

Chile Spanish Schools After a Volunteer Vacation

Saturday, October 29th, 2011

I’m going to Chile for a volunteer vacation. I’m going to be doing some environmental work there. I think its pretty cool to have a vacation plus do some good. After the vacation part is over, I was thinking about staying longer and immersing myself in the language. My Spanish skills are barely passable. I started looking at Chile Spanish schools, and I’ve picked one out. I’m pretty excited about learning the language properly in the country itself. I plan on doing a lot of work in Spanish speaking countries, so learning this way should really help me. The school has a program that will place you with a host family while you are taking the course. I’m going to do that as well. I think staying with a family in combination with the classes will take the experience to the next level. Soon I’ll be speaking Spanish like a pro!

The Charm of the Navala Village in Nadi, Fiji

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

The Navala Village is a popular tourist destination in the country of Fiji. But what makes it one-of-a kind compared with other vacation spots is that there are no significant technological changes in the area.

There are two hundred unique thatched “bures” that can be found in Navala. They have the same designs but the bigger edifices have larger roofs. The houses in the village have been constructed with same technique used over the past years.

The government of Fiji has offered residents the chance to have modern residences in 1950 but it was refused by village officials.

They have decided to educate their kids on how to create the unique house. The school building, church and generator facility are the only solid structures in the village. Guests that want to experience what it has to offer are required to pay twenty Fiji dollars.

The fee is used to maintain the bures. Some of the delicacies that tourists should try out during their stay include the local drink made from the roots of the Yqona tree.

Something Special Happening

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

I have been fascinated with Barcelona ever since I saw pictures of my friend’s trip there. I have been to quite a few places myself, but there was just something about those pictures. Sure, my friend is a professional photographer, but these pictures were something more than just his talent. It showed the charm and history of the area, and they actually made me hungry to go there to see it in person. I have no sense of direction so I knew that I would need some help once I was there. I did a search for bus tour Barcelona to see if that was an option and it was. I went ahead and made my travel arrangements, and I have to admit that the closer it gets here, the more excited I am becoming. I have never felt this way about a trip before, so there must be something truly special happening.

I Want a Job in Zimbabwe

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

I am looking for a very well paying job but I do not know where to search from. I was thinking of staying in Uganda but a friend of mine (older than me) recommended me to try out other countries and among them, she mentioned Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Rwanda, Libya and so many others. After giving me the list of the countries in East Africa, she told me to choose one of them to be my place of survey and when I sat down to analyze each country; I saw that I had been to all the other countries apart from Zimbabwe. I therefore chose to go to Zimbabwe with all my documents and my plan was first to have a safari in the country. The reason why I chose to have a zimbabwe safari was that I wanted to see the mighty animals that they always talk about like the gorillas, elephants, warthogs, bufallos, crocodiles, hyenas, rhinos, hippos, antelopes, kudus and a few others. After finishing my safari, they will go for the job search.

How to Write Your Packing List for Vacation Correctly

Saturday, September 17th, 2011

In writing one’s packing list for vacation properly; people should first try to learn a few important things about their chosen destination in order for them to be able to prepare correctly for their trip. It is important that people learn what kinds of things they should put in their list and not just writing down any random stuff that they can think about bringing with them on their vacation.

Packing just anything that comes to mind can prepare a person for almost anything for the future. However if a person brings too many things that are not really necessary for the trip then this can instead cause and give stress to the person traveling. He may even lose some important documents if he has too many bags to look after and with traveling; packing too many things would not be any convenient when a person is traveling because he would have to carry a lot of bags with him. This would cause him difficulty in traveling and even risking losing important documents.

Preparing a list of things to bring therefore should be done properly with people knowing what they are going to expect from the place. This would give them the edge to prepare the things that they would exactly need for their trip.
